Step 1: Choose your favourite photo The quality of your reference photo plays an important role in creating a successful portrait. I work from one main photograph rather than combining multiple images, so choosing a clear and natural photo will help achieve the best possible result. I've included some extra tips in the FAQs below, but if you are unsure which image would work best, I am always happy to help you choose the strongest option. Step 2: Pick your portrait size There are several size and material options including; Signature Wood Slice Portraits, from £180, Approx 9" x 9". Available for single pet portraits only. Resin Wood Portraits, from £200, 7.8" x 7.8". Available for single pet portraits only. Canvas & Wood Portrait Commissions, from £180, Small  12" x 16", Medium 16" x 20", Large 18" x 24". Step 3: Get in touch with me to share your vision Now you're ready to reach out to me from my contact page. Throughout the commission process, you will receive a friendly and personal experience including a personal consultation so that you can share your vision with me. The aim is always to create artwork that feels timeless, personal, and worthy of being displayed and treasured for generations. Step 4: Secure your booking When you're ready to secure your booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. I will send you an invoice and payment can be made via my website. Payment instalment options may also available, please get in touch to discuss available options. Step 5: I create your painting Throughout the commission process, you will receive open communication via email as well as progress updates during your painting. Minor revisions may be requested at the sketch or early painting stage where appropriate. Portraits usually take between 6–9 weeks to complete, depending on the time of year and the complexity of the piece.   Step 6: Approve your artwork and finalise your payment Once finished and you are happy with your piece, the remaining balance must be paid in full before the artwork is shipped or delivered. I will send you an invoice and payment can be made via my website. Step 7: I finished, wrap & deliver your piece with care Your piece will then be beautifully mounted, packaged & delivered carefully to you, ready to gift or frame. Your commission includes: * Professional mounting, ready to hang * Acid-free protective packaging * Certificate of Authenticity * Artwork care guide Smaller artworks and pet portraits are elegantly wrapped in protective glassine paper, layered with delicate tissue paper, and presented in a luxury black gift box finished with ribbon for an extra special finishing touch.

Portraits usually take between 6–9 weeks to complete, depending on the time of year and the complexity of the piece. I work on a first come, first served basis, so once booked in, you will be added to my waiting list.   If you are hoping to gift a portrait for a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas, I recommend booking well in advance to secure a slot in my studio. If you have a specific deadline in mind, please get in touch and I will always do my best to accommodate.

Occasionally, yes. If you are based outside the UK and would like to commission a portrait, please get in touch for a delivery quote and estimated timescale.   Please note that international customers may be responsible for any customs or import charges.

The ideal photograph should:   * Be clear, sharp, and well lit * Capture a natural expression or pose you love * Show clear detail around the eyes and facial features * Avoid heavy filters or blurry images * Avoid photos taken from above, particularly for pets   For people portraits, relaxed closed mouth smiles often create the most timeless painted result. To keep your artwork in the best possible condition, it’s important to display it away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and areas of high humidity. Framing behind glass or acrylic will help protect the surface from dust, moisture and handling. If your piece is unframed, storing it flat in a clean, dry space is recommended until it is ready to be framed. Avoid touching the surface of the artwork directly, as natural oils from hands can cause damage over time. For cleaning, simply dust the frame gently with a soft, dry cloth, never use water or cleaning products on the artwork itself. With the right care, your artwork will remain beautiful for many years to come.
