Description:

This painting was created in 2024 for my solo exhibition “The Gaze of the Wild”.

I painted this silverback gorilla to capture the quiet strength and wisdom in his gaze, but also to remind us of his fragility. His deep, amber eyes hold a lifetime of stories, yet his kind faces the threat of extinction. The cool blue tones echo a sense of calm, while also symbolising the urgent need to protect these magnificent creatures before the disappear from our world.
